ICAP promotes the paralegal profession in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties through the establishment of a network of professional paralegals to:
Founded in 1985 as a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation, ICAP offers the advantages of a professional organization to paralegals/legal assistants as Regular Members, and, as Associate Members, to paralegal certificate students in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The ICAP Bylaws and membership policies establish the qualifications of a Regular Member as a "graduate of a particular paralegal training program and who is currently employed as a paralegal or as a person who is in-house trained with six months of paralegal experience". Paralegals in training, paralegals who are unemployed, or paralegal certificate students may apply for Associate (nonvoting) Membership. Monthly general membership meetings: Speakers discuss educational, general interest topics or open forum discussions. Annual Student Colloquium: Speakers discuss successful strategies and techniques for new paralegals. ICAPtions: Bimonthly newsletter which includes employment opportunities, continuing educational opportunities, and timely articles concerning subjects which are of professional interest. Financial and related services through approved benefits providers. |
